I (Marissa Casey, PsyD) currently offer telehealth (telephone or video) and face to face/in-office appointments. Office appointments are available by request at a shared office in Nixa, MO. Available services (Connection Session, Initial Interview, and Individual Therapy), appointment duration, and fees are described below each appointment type.
I work with clients ages 13 years and older. Parents are required to be involved in my work with their child, but how we accomplish this varies depending on the family and our goal(s) for therapy.
I am out of network with all insurance companies. By law (No Surprises Act), you will receive a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services before we begin our work together. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Connection Session
This is a free, 30-minute appointment for us to meet and decide if we would like to work together. You may ask questions about treatment, therapy services provided, appointments, billing, clinician specialties, clinic policies, etc., or just chat to see if we are a good fit. This is not a therapy appointment and not a substitute for personalized professional advice.
Connection Sessions are open to youth and adult clients. Parents will need to schedule the appointment for their child (choose “scheduling for someone else,” after clicking the button below) and both/all should be present for the appointment they schedule.
Previous clients of Dr. Casey should also select this as their first appointment with Gifted Healing in order to discuss how her current practice may be different.
After your appointment is confirmed, you will receive an invitation to the client portal through SimplePractice, a HIPAA compliant system. Please check your junk mail for the invitation.
Fee: Free
Duration: 30 minutes
If you want an appointment slot that is less than 24 hours from now, you will need to call (417) 394-5900 to schedule. If you leave a message, please mention the Connection Session and leave contact information, preferably including an email to send the appointment confirmation to.
Initial clinical interview
If we decide to work together, this appointment will be scheduled after the Connection Session.
We will begin to explore your treatment history (if applicable), symptoms, struggles, successes, and strengths together. We are looking to create or conceptualize a mosaic that includes many facets of your life (your whole self). We may also collaborate on initial treatment goals together.
Fee: $180
Duration: at least one hour (60 minutes), please allow for up to 90 minutes
Prior to this session, you will be sent some paperwork through the online portal outlining important policies which you will need to review and sign. You are welcome to contact me with any questions about the documents.
Individual therapy
These appointments are scheduled after the Initial Clinical Interview and are where the bulk of the work in therapy is done.
The average therapy appointment is approximately 45 to 50 minutes every one to two weeks. I offer appointment durations starting at 30 minutes. The specific duration and frequency of appointments will be discussed with you and we will decide together what combination best meets your needs.
I view my role as psychologist as a combination of educator, mentor, collaborative problem-solver, and guide on the journey to heal and honor a client’s whole self healthily and authentically. I greatly value honesty and understanding within the client-clinician relationship. I bring my knowledge and experience with psychology and therapy, and you bring your knowledge and experience about yourself and your life. Read more about me and my approach to therapy.
Fee: $150/hour
Duration: 30 minutes and up
Good Faith Estimates
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
If your treatment plan changes significantly (such as needing more frequent appointments), then you will receive an updated Good Faith Estimate.
Gifted Healing will utilize the secure client portal through SimplePractice to send Good Faith Estimates. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for yourself. It will always be available in your client portal.
